7-27-17 East Fork Campground

For our 2017 Eastern Sierra camping and fishing trip, one of our favorite Rock Creek campgrounds in California was a little bit different. There was much more snow melt and run off and a few moments after turning off of Hwy-395 onto Rock Creek Lake Rd., we passed French Camp Campground on our right, started up the steep incline, and it became very obvious that there was much more water coming down from Rock Creek Lake than we had ever seen before. We knew right away that fishin’ was going to be interesting this year.

5-7-17 Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park

After years of road trips up to the Monterey Peninsula and staying in motels we finally decided to include Monterey in a camping trip and we were not disappointed. Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park was just what we needed. It was fairly inexpensive and centrally located for quick trips to Pacific Grove, Carmel and Cannery Row. The only thing missing was more days to just soak all of this up in!

5-2-17 Marble Quarry R.V. Park

This leg of our journey found us comfortably parked under huge shade trees, ready for some of the best camping, Sierras. Hooked up to water, electricity and sewer, we were just a few minutes walk from the quaint little gold rush town of Columbia. Surrounding us lay the Mother Lode country, an area that provided many a story from Mark Twain. Southeast was Yosemite, northeast was Hwy 108 stretching all the way over to the beautiful Walker River and the Eastern Sierras. And all around us were incredible lakes filled with water from a great winter and spring’s rain.

2-13-17 Pinezanita RV Park & Campgrounds

Four miles south of the quaint little old gold mining town of Julian in northeastern San Diego County, lies an amazing camping experience for campers and RV’ers. Pinezanita RV Park & Campground has been one of our main go-to’s since our first summer of camping together. Here the grounds are extremely well kept and every smile is genuine. The Stanley Family has been providing incredible camping experiences for thousands of RV’ers and campers since 1968. There are quite a few campgrounds on Hwy 79 between Julian and I-8 but none remotely equal the quality of camping experience found here at Pinezanita RV Park & Campground.

9-1-16 Boulder Creek RV Resort

For the entire time that we have been traveling up to the Eastern Sierras we have passed Boulder Creek RV Resort and always wondered what it would be like to spend the night here. Now that we’re getting a little older we appreciate driving a few less miles each day and taking our time along the road to enjoy our surroundings. So, this year we took the plunge and reserved a spot at this quaint little oasis!
