For our 2017 Eastern Sierra camping and fishing trip, one of our favorite Rock Creek campgrounds in California was a little bit different. There was much more snow melt and run off and a few moments after turning off of Hwy-395 onto Rock Creek Lake Rd., we passed French Camp Campground on our right, started up the steep incline, and it became very obvious that there was much more water coming down from Rock Creek Lake than we had ever seen before. We knew right away that fishin’ was going to be interesting this year.

Nicely secluded off Hwy 38 around 35 miles north of Redlands is the amazing campground called Heart Bar. Years and years ago my buddy Kirk told me about this awesome hideaway but it wasn’t till around 2008 that I actually got around to checking it out. Since then we’ve joined a bunch of our friends camping at Heart Bar time after time and year after year!
So, heading home the gang wanted to stay close to the beach and having been here before once or twice, my wife and I knew exactly where to stop for the night. Here at Pismo Coast Village there are tons of great amenities and just a few moments through the gate in the fence is this Pismo Beach RV park’s beach area.
So not only will you find all the amazing amenities previously mentioned here at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort but you can enjoy slow care free days out on the sand lazily taking in the amazing oceanfront and you can easily stroll the beach into Pismo where you’ll enjoy tons of great shops and food.
After years of road trips up to the Monterey Peninsula and staying in motels we finally decided to include Monterey in a camping trip and we were not disappointed. Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park was just what we needed. It was fairly inexpensive and centrally located for quick trips to Pacific Grove, Carmel and Cannery Row. The only thing missing was more days to just soak all of this up in!
