Driving down CA-89 passing through Hat Creek you’ll find an amazing oasis and only one if you’re watching for Hat Creek RV parks. This campground is an excellent alternative for all the humidity and bugs you’ll find if you’re planning on doing some Burney Falls, CA camping!
When you’re done exploring all the wonderful sites of this Lassen Nat’l Forest area, why not come back to Hat Creek and enjoy a little trout fishing in the recently stocked pond and enjoy the evening as the coolness begins to rustle through the tall shade trees. If the kids have any energy left, they’ll be able to burn it off with all games and equipment freely supplied for the guests.
If you do plan on visiting the nearby Lassen Volcanic Nat’l Park or Lassen Peak why fuss with trying to get a reservation at one of the Mt Lassen campgrounds when the kids can swim and you can fish at Hat Creek Hereford Ranch RV Park?
One of the things I appreciated the most here was the personal touch that we got when we arrived. Having never been there before we were allowed to take a look around and see if there was a space that we liked more and consequently did find one that we liked just a little better. We really did enjoy the folks that run the park!
As mentioned in the amenities, there are just a ton of gaming equipment supplied to the kids upon request and a huge grassy area to play on. The pond does have a nice beach area for the kids if they ya’ want to do some swimming. If you’d like to do a little fishing for some regularly stocked trout you can pay to fish in their private little lake or you can just go around the lake and up the stream and fish under Fish and Game authority.
Another really cool feature is an area where you can camp on grass pull throughs. This area was currently being used for a family reunion when we got there. If you’re thinking about planning a family reunion, you really need to consider this great little camground.
As I’ve been mentioning, this is centrally located to a host of different sights for your family to enjoy. Whether you coming up from Susanville, over from Redding or down from Mt Shasta, this truly is an easy, enjoyable drive and ya’ just have to camp here at least once in your life!
So if you’re passin’ through heading to Burney Falls campground or maybe one of the Lassen Park campgrounds, give the folks a call at this great little Hat Creek campground or visit them at Hat Creek Hereford Ranch RV Park!
