Driving north into the town of Bishop you’ll notice a golf course on your left and right next to it, some conveniently accessible Bishop Ca RV camping. As you get setup here, you’ll notice that there are several sites with hookups including cable TV. You’ll also notice that there are several sites that are pull-throughs… perfect for the next time you are just stopping in for one night and don’t want to unhook.
You might also notice a lot of grassy areas that are nice for tent campers but are used for trailers and RV’s as well as tents. You’ll also see that restrooms and showers are conveniently located for all guests easy access.
Your Brown’s Town camping experience includes a great country store, providing food, camping supplies, books, souvenirs and much, much more. The Brown’s Town Cafe supplies ya’ with a soda fountain, fresh made sandwiches, hot dogs, homemade pie and beer or coffee. I gotta tell ya’ too, their homemade peach pie is wonderful!
Around the office area you’ll find a museum area displaying antiques from Bishop’s past. You’ll also notice a recreational/picnic area and a dump station free for the guests. If you enjoy a good game of horseshoes, you won’t be disappointed by these well kept pits. Included in this recreational area is a nice playground for the kids.
Bishop Creek is nearby for some wonderful Trout fishing. Head north into town and make a left at Hwy 168 and follow it up into the mountains where Bishop Creek will provide you with hours of fightin’ the trout. If you enjoy lake fishing, Lake Sabrina, North Lake and South Lake all await you with access to the high country if you’d like to do some hiking and walk into some other lake areas.
In town, don’t forget to visit Schat’s Bakery for some incredible pastries, breads, sandwiches and other wonderful baked goods. Mac’s Sporting Goods in the middle of town on the main street(395) can take care of all your fishing and hunting needs and if ya’ want to start out your day with a most memorable breakfast experience, stop in next door to Jack’s Restaurant where you never leave disappointed.
